Setting the Stage for Kenya’s Champs
“I find it hard to believe we are still in Kenya right now; this set up is way out of what we are used to!” said a local event organiser in attendance at the 12th Safaricom Sportsman of the Year Awards (SOYA).
It was our third year handling the star-studded event which seeks to honour the national treasure that is our fit flag bearers- yet the guests managed praises for us as well. Julius Yego crowned Sportsman of The Year couldn’t hide his pleasure.
“This was a really great event, one of the best I have ever attended!” he told our crew on ground.
The admiration may have been sparked by our theatrical lighting aided by parcans, MACS, frensels and blinders. Or maybe it was the geometrically layered screens that were crystal for everyone, even those at the back of the house. Perhaps it was the seamlessness of the event production. For our champions, we compromised on nothing-not even the sound.
In the end, our sportsmen got their much deserved bow and we were glad to have set the stage for a fun night, as former media personality Julie Gichuru posted on Instagram.
